Dry

Most brushes aren't ruined by makeup. They're ruined drying flat on a towel, where water runs into the handle and loosens what holds them together.

Use it for sixty days. If your brushes are not softer and easier to live with, send it back.

    Questions people ask

Why does drying upside down matter?

Water runs away from the ferrule instead of into it. There's glue inside that metal band. Keeping water out is the easiest thing you can do to make a brush last.

Overnight on a rack. Flat on a towel, dense foundation brushes can stay damp for two days. That's how bristles end up bent.

Heat is hard on bristles and on the glue. Air is gentler and costs you nothing but time you were asleep for.

Many people use both. A machine cycle leaves brushes damp. A rack finishes overnight.
